The business BUNGARTZ ROOFING was established by my greatgrand-father in Germany 1890.
In Germany, one has to have an apprentice for at least three years to become a "certified" roofer.
However, I was able to acquire this certificate after only 19 months (normaly 3 years) in 1979 since I achieved the best study grades in both, the practical and the theoretical, subjects.
I have specialised in laying metal roofing, as well as slate & tile roofs and installing coppergutters & roofpiping. Slate pictures & -ornaments are also created by me, based on individual designs.
In 1983, after 4 years of further studies, I achieved my "Master Certificate" in Roofing and the Certification as a "Technical Manager for Roof, Wall- & Sealing techniques".
With my Certification and the holding of the title as Roofer-Master, I am authorised and enabled to educate, teach and demonstrate apprentices in roofing techniques.
In 1988, I became the manager of the above mentioned family-owned and -run business, until I moved to the U.S. in August 2006.
Initially I work together with some big Roofing Companies in the U.S. and Canada, to teach and demonstrate special Slate- and Copper work
Since 2007 I am member of the SRCA of north america.
